Tata Motors, the country’s largest auto company, seems all set to introduce a new model in its flagship Safari series, Tata Safari Storme, in the Indian Auto Industry. The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), which was first showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo held in January this year, is anticipated to sparkle at the India showrooms on October 17, 2012. Industry experts believe that the new model will be designed on the lines of Tata Aria, which is speculated to be inspired from Range Rover series.

Auto analysts believe that the launch of new model will not replace the current generation Safari and thus, both will be offered together. Speculations have revealed that the upcoming 2012 Safari Storme will be available in two variants, 4X2 and 4X4, which will surely help the auto maker to cope up with the demands of several individuals who are waiting for something other than 4x4 Mahindra XUV500.

Interestingly, the auto company was busy in the development of Safari from past two years and since then, it has introduced two facelift models with four new engines. The new generation model, named as Safari Storme, is expected to fill in the void between current generation Safari SUV and Aria crossover.

It is believed that upcoming SUV will boasts of several futuristic advancements, which will help it to stand apart from its rivals. Features like an upgraded gearbox, new look, improved ergonomics, quality material at interiors and ample space for leg room at all the rows are anticipated to be packed within the model. However, steering and suspensions systems within the new generation Safari Storme are expected to be shared from its older version.
