you cannot say its tractor under the hood, may be it started with tractor engine under the hood, but with course of time ,mahindra has modified it to achieve perfection. with new scorpio launched in auto expo it got state of the art mhawk diesel engine which is even approved by US govt.
even mahindra has plans to launch scorpio in US market to compete with some big names in SUV market like ford.

Mahindra is a good Tractor Manufactors but not cars. Their R&D is very poor. Every Scorpio runs like Frog. It is too difficult to sit straight in a Scorpio without holding. Such a waste is this Scorpio. Being a consumer I rather spend my money on Toyota Innova in that range.
And yeah you are right M&M can be compared to Fords only
However M&M is doing a lot better in tractors in USA and even in China. Baki ta bhai bande te aa budget kinna aa te akal kinni aa gadiya baare kithe invest karna chaida.

I call that shere engineering ...they are just using the platform of Tata Nano to market it worldwide as its already famous on this planet. This guy has such amazing marketing skills.....thats how you make cars May be Tata/M&M should learn from DC.
