Kia to bring POP electric vehicle concept to Paris Motor show

Kia is all set to debut its POP Electric Vehicle Concept at Paris Motor Show. Kia’s latest concept is an all electric, three meter long vehicle with a seating capacity for three. This model is believed to be a revival for Smart and is South-Korean automaker’s move to attract the people with electric vehicle as well as to enter the European auto market. Designed especially for the crowded cities of tomorrow, it adopts a nonconformist design, drawn by the same Peter Schreyer.

The concept features revolutionary design, unusual lines, LED lights and nonconformist ergonomics and will be equipped with an electric unit powered by lithium-ion batteries which can be charged from the cells integrated in the panoramic roof. This vehicle is 300mm longer than the Smart ForTwo and has almost the same length as a Toyota IQ, but seats three passengers, not four. However, doubts remain as to how the electric vehicle will seat third member as at the front there are spaces for two seatbelts which makes it clear the third passenger could sit behind the driver and that is going to be quite an uncomfortable fit.
