OXYGEN-taxi concept claims to ‘clean’ the environment
The Oxygen-taxi concept from designer Darius Zieba doesn’t simply rest on the claim of being a zero-emission vehicle, it goes on to say that it actually cleans the environment. The environmentally friendly taxi is open to let air flow through, but has a roof to protect passengers from the vagaries of the weather. This fuel cell powered taxi has water vapors as its only emission.
For “cleaning” the air, the concept’s roof has a sheet-like structure with a “hypermembrane” to filter particulate matter from the air. The driver can steer this city vehicle with a joystick, and the cockpit can be locked. Other areas, however, remain open, and can be used as “city furniture” when the taxi is not in use. This concept is one of the entries in the Green Life design competition, head on to Designboom to see more entries.
