Opel released first photos, details of Flextreme GT/E Concept

Although Opel is planning to unveil their Flextreme GT/E concept car at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, yet the details and the pics are released before its debut. Opel’s idea behind this hybrid vehicle is to show how the Volt’s extended-range electric vehicle drivetrain can be used in a larger vehicle.
Flextreme GT/E is a five-door hatchback concept which is 1.3-meters high and 4.7-meters long. It will be capable of running from 0-100km/h in less than 9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 200 km/h. This vehicle has a fuel economy of 147mpg (US) and the CO2 emission is kept below 40 g/km.

Powered by an electric motor that produces 120 kW and 273lb-ft of torque, this hybrid vehicle is augmented by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder gas engine. It will travel 37 miles on battery power before the generator needs to kick in to continue supplying electricity to the motor.
On the other, it flaunts a wing-shaped lights and Corvette-inspired grille in its exterior that will surely add a new look to Opel vehicles. Flextreme GT/E concept also has LED headlights, an elongated nose and low hood, swept back arches and 21-inch alloys are also featured.
