Mazda RX-Z concept proposal aims to link conventional and ecological cars

The Mazda RX-Z concept by designer Andrus Ciprian is very much a simple and straight design, much like his earlier Dacia MC concept. The idea behind the RX-Z is to act “as a link between fossil fuel cars and more ecological ones,” and as a replacement for the “aging” RX-8.

The four-door concept has a 3.0-l V6 diesel placed under the hood, doing away with Mazda’s rotary engine, and two electric motors are placed at the rear. At lower speeds, theconcept would move on electric power alone, and the motors will work in conjunction with the V6 powerplant at higher speeds. Interestingly, the rear of theconcept has a “screen” where driver can key-in and display text as desired.
