Honda unveils Brio at Thai Show, set to join small car war in India

Honda is all set to launch its small car Honda Brio in India.


Honda Motor Corp unveiled the near-production version of its latest small car Brio at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2010 . Honda Brio will be launched in India by September of next year. Honda Brio is targeted for Thailand and Indian markets. Honda brio will cost around RS. 5 lakh in India. It will be the cheapest car from Honda in India.

Honda Brio is a compact car. It measures 3.6m, 1.68m, and 1.475m in length, width and height respectively. It will have a 1.2 litre i-Vtec petrol engine similar to the Jazz sports. Honda claims to have a fuel efficiency of 20 kmpl. No official announcement is yet made on the diesel engine of Brio.

The Honda brio will be launched at a time when rival Toyota will launch its small car Etios. Etios sedan version will be launched on wednesday. Honda has unveiled a bright fluorescent green color 4 door Brio unlike the 2 door grey silver color concept showcased at the New Delhi Auto Expo in January 2010.
