The Indian tri-colour is all set to make an even bigger mark on the world of Formula 1 in 2009 as Team Force India reveals its new livery.
Following a major management shakedown that saw quite a few changes in lead roles in the Force India Formula 1 camp and an engine supplier change from Ferrari to McLaren, the new VJM02 will now be showing off colours from the Indian national flag with full pride.
The team ran its 2009 spec car alongside other teams at a group test session at Silverstone recently and will continue to run it at Jerez as well in final preparations for the season opener in Melbourne, Australia end of this month. Vijay Mallya's new car will be sporting a saffron, white and green paintjob through the season as they hope to finish in a better position than they did in their first season last year. The team had inherited a Ferrari engine deal when Mallya bought over the team from Spyker but after a dismal non-point scoring run in '08 the team has new hopes for the new season.
Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella's racing overalls will also sport the new colours. This takes the Indian connection to Formula 1 even deeper as more and more fans get interested and the country vies to host a round on Indian soil soon.
