Equilibrium concept has cars with artificial intelligence, and individuality

The Equilibrium concept is futuristic, and if ever made, it would be a car to kill for. While the idea behind the car and its functioning is fanciful for the current technology, it sure is interesting. Exterior of the concept is covered with “rubber metal,” which utilizes nanotechnology to be flexible as well as rigid. Interiors on the other hand are connected to a center frame; seats are made of two parts, the external shell and a softer inner skin coated with Electro Active polymers that adjust to the passenger’s body shape for better comfort.

As the driver approaches a parked car, it senses the presence and its interiors illuminate and pulse on recognizing the owner. At the same time, the vehicle reveals its door handles and goes into standby mode. Once the driver is inside, a sensor detects the heartbeat and moves from standby to full power, activating the two electric motors housed in the car’s rear wheels. The same heartbeat sensor also keeps track of driver concentration, and health and can respond to the arising situations, including sending an SOS message through satellite for help. The Equilibrium Concept has been designed by Bob Romkes.
