In what looks to be a marketing collaboration between Nissan Middle East, Abu Dhabi Police and Yas Marina F1, a Nissan GT-R was displayed at the recently-concluded Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in full Abu Dhabi police livery. While touted as a patrol vehicle, it looks like it spent its first days being trailered to the event, to keep it spotless. Expect the red-and-white GT-R to make more appearances at future auto shows and racing events.

Celebrating the Emirate’s involvement in Formula One, the Abu Dhabi Police department unveiled the F999 race car which, as they say, is not for chasing criminals, but for promoting safe driving.

The F999 had the words "we ensure your safety in the fastest way" plastered on the sides of the engine cover. The police even used it to act out a safety procedure involving a masked "criminal".

During the festival, Lt. Colonel Mubarak bin Muheiroom, Director of Community Policing Department honored exemplary drivers for their safe driving and their adherence to traffic rules. Lt.Majed Abdul Kareem Al Marzouqi drove the F999 for the public view, followed by presentation of The Falcon motorbike.

The motorbike was designed by the Orange County Choppers (OCC) to include a mixture of UAE heritage and modern international styles. Major Fayssal Al Shamari, Chairman of F1 media Committee stated that the aim of ADP participation in this event was to communicate with the youth, especially motor bikers and car lovers.

Furthermore, a tent was set up at the festival to showcase electrically-operated motor bikes in use by the Community Policing Personnel. They were intended to enhance direct communication with the community members.

A few other cars recently acquired by the department were also showcased, including a new Chevrolet Camaro, a Nissan GT-R and some special motorbikes, all dressed in local police livery.
