2011 Porsche Cayenne gets bigger, loses weight, gains a hybrid option


You remember last week we have had the images of Porsche Cayenne on its configurator that were later removed. Well, now 2011 Porsche Cayenne is officially official as the images and details of the vehicle have been released, giving clear insight into what the vehicle will come up with.
Stuttgart’s completely redesigned SUV model is bigger to its predecessor but loses weight and also gains a hybrid option. Yes, 2011 Cayenne is slightly longer with a 1.6-inch longer wheelbase and weighs 440 pounds less to its predecessor. This new Cayenne has lowered roofline, steeper angle of the rear tailgate and sharper looking snout.

This vehicle will be available in two versions – a 3.6-liter V6 engine that packs 300hp while the Cayenne Diesel features a 3.0-liter unit that produces 240hp and 550 Nm of torque. The performance figures for this new Cayenne petrol is at 8.2-liters per 100Km and CO2 emissions of 193g/Km, whereas for the Diesel version the figures will be 7.4-liters per 100 Km.
The top turbo model also flaunts 8-liter V8 with twin turbochargers, generating 500hp with fuel consumption for the same at 11.5-liters per 100Km. Prices for the 2011 Porsche Cayenne starts from 55,431 Euros and reaches 115,526 Euros. The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale in Europe from May 8th.
