While the competition for iPad may predominantly come from tablets using a more popular ARM processor, like those from Qualcomm, there is another chip gaining favor with some manufacturers. It’s the dual-core RockChip RK2818 1GHz processor, a successor to the 600MHz RK2808.
The faster chip is already in use for the forthcoming ezGear SurfBoard 700 and the RAmos W9, but now a third tablet is expected to use it called the Window N6.

The N6 is expected to ship with Android 2.1 in September, but with an Android 2.2 update following shortly afterwards. We aren’t sure what the screen size is, although we expect it to be 7-inches. There’s Wi-Fi, 3G, and “Widget touch + trackball + keypad + G sensor” for input.

The Google translated Chinese website iMP3 gives little else in way of information, but with a September launch we don’t have long to wait to find out if it’s any good. From the images above, it certainly looks the part and it makes a nice change to see a white case rather than the more common black.
