Cloud gaming is changing the way video games are consumed.

WikiPad and Gaikai have today announced a partnership to bring cloud gaming to the Wikipad gaming Android tablet.

Since it’s unveiling at CES earlier this year the WikiPad 3D Android gaming tablet running Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system, has been tweaked and modified using feedback from gamers worldwide say Wikipad.

Now the Wikipad will be equipped with an 10.1 inch glasses-free 1080p 3D touch screen, supporting 1080p media playback from H.264, VC1, VOB, ISO, M2TS, and FLV files.

Once officially launched the Wikipad will be powered by a quad-core processor, and include 8GB of internal memory.

Fraser Townley, President of Sales for Wikipad explains:

“We chose to partner with Gaikai’s game streaming service for its leading performance, graphics, and content,”-”It is the leading game streaming solution with the best library of AAA games and we are thrilled to offer these high quality experiences to our users where Gaikai’s network is deployed.”

The WikiPad 3D was originally set for release in March at less than $250, but that target has obviously come and gone, and there’s currently no word on a potential release date or an updated price to match its new specs.
