It appears that the 7-inch tablet space will have a new member as a listing has recently appeared on GLBenchmark showing a tablet from Samsung sporting the codename GT-N5100, which may be launched under the branding Galaxy Note 7.
The ‘N’ in the codename denotes that it will be Note tablet. A report by SamMobile states, “According to GLBenchmark the Samsung GT-N5100 will use a 1.6GHz Exynos 4412 processor with a resolution of 1280 × 800 which is the same as the current Galaxy Tab 7.7. The Samsung N5100 will run on Android 4.1.2 which is the latest Android version at Samsung at the moment. Of course Samsung will update this tablet to Android 4.2 later. If the GLBenchmark results are true, this is the next version of the Galaxy Tab 7.7.”
As for the launch date, with the Consumer Electronics Show and the Mobile World Congress looming just around the corner, early next year, we expect this tablet to be officially unveiled then. If not, then Samsung should host a special event to show off the Galaxy Note 7.

Apart from this 7-inch tablet, Acer and Asus are also preparing 7-inch models of their own that can compete with the Galaxy Note 7. Pricing will be the key component here as to which tablet succeeds in this space.

Apart from this tablet, Samsung is also rumoured to showcase a smartphone at the Mobile World Congress called Galaxy Frame at the Mobile World Congress. If a report by tech site SaMmobile is anything to go by, then Samsung may introduce this mid-range Galaxy device – the Samsung GT-S6810 Galaxy Frame – at Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona. In fact, the report suggests that the smartphone is expected to hit store shelves at the end of the first quarter of 2013. Only other substantial information known at the moment is that the specifications of the Frame will be around the same level as the Galaxy Ace or Galaxy Mini smartphones. The Frame reportedly will only be available in the Pearl White colour.
Another big offering that is set to come out from Samsung next year is the Galaxy S IV. A report had stated that the highly anticipated successor to the Galaxy S III, the Galaxy S IV, will not be released at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013, but instead at an event after CES.
Rumours about the Galaxy S IV have been falling like snow did in the Ice Age. If the last rumour about the Samsung Galaxy S IV is to be believed, it may feature an unbreakable screen. In fact, reports suggest that if this is true, it could turn out to be a major selling point of the smartphone—considering the converging form factor.
Interestingly, reports also indicate that the Galaxy S IV will probably have a bigger and better display, quad-core processing power and a 13 megapixel camera, with picture density improving to 441 pixels per inch (ppi), which is a big improvement over the Galaxy S III's 306 ppi and better than the iPhone 5's 326 ppi.
