SanDisk Ultra SSD

SanDisk has just announced the introduction of the Ultra series of solid state drives, which are designed to be used in older computers and notebooks the Sandisk Ultra SSDs, and Sandisk are aiming these new SSDs at consumers.

SanDisk’s new SSD line comprises three drive models, which offer 60GB, 120GB and 240GB of storage capacity and use the SATA II (3Gbps) interface to connect to the system.



According to the manufacturer, this enables them to reach sequential read and write speeds of 280MB/s and 270MB/s respectively.
The rest of the specification sheet lists an active power consumption of 0.43 Watts, while MTBF is estimated at 1.0 million hours.

The Sandisk Ultra SSDs are now available from a range of retailers in the US, and prices start at $129.99 for the 60GB model, $219.99 for the 120GB model and $449.99 for the 240GB model.
