Samsung Launches 3D Monitors
Samsung Electronics has expanded its 3D offering with its 750 and 950 3D monitors. The four new models—namely the 23-inch S23A750D and S23A950D and 27-inch S27A750D and S27A950D—all come with Samsung's proprietary 3D panel, which offers what the company calls hyper-realistic 3D playback. They also feature a built-in glasses sync emitter, and come bundled with a pair of active-shutter glasses and middleware for 3D gaming.
In a nod to eco-conscious users, the new 750 and 950 monitors use LED-backlit technology, reducing the energy consumption by as much as 40 percent. Like all of Samsung's LED displays, these are mercury- and halogen-free. In addition, the 950 model's base and back are made of recyclable material. The new 750 and 950 monitors sport an ultrathin profile, with most of the circuitry housed in the base. The 750 models feature Samsung's signature Touch of Color design, which embeds colored accents in the bezel. The 950 models have an aluminum chassis. The LED-backlit panels also feature 100 percent sRGB coverage, which give more realistic color reproduction.
The S23A750D measures 21 by 16 by 7.5 inches (HWD, with stand), while the S27A750D measures 25 by 18 by 7.5 inches. Meanwhile, the S23A950D measures 21 by 16.5 by 7 inches and the S27A950D measures 24.5 by 18.5 by 7 inches. All four have full 1080p (1,920-by-1,080) resolution, and feature a pixel response rate of 2 milliseconds. All four also offer both a DisplayPort and HDMI port for connectivity.
