Samsung Chromebook arrives in India for Rs 26,990

After Acer and HP Chromebooks, Google has brought the Samsung Chromebook to India. The Samsung Chromebook is priced at Rs 26,990 and will be available through select retailers like Reliance Digital and Croma, as well as on online stores. Samsung Chromebook owners can also avail of a range of exclusive broadband and cellular offers from Airtel and Tikona.

Running Google's Chrome OS, the Samsung Chromebook sports an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. It is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 5 Dual processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It tips the scale at 1.1 kilogram and is 17.5mm thin. On the battery front, the Chromebook promises up to 6.5 hours of activity.

Samsung Chromebook comes with 16GB SSD (Solid State Drive) and Google also adds 100GB of Drive cloud storage. However, the cloud storage offer is valid only for two years, depending upon the date you start using it. Some other specs include a built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, optional 3G modem, VGA webcam, a USB port and a micro-USB port, HDMI port and support for Bluetooth 3.0. One will also find preloaded Google services like Gmail, YouTube and Hangouts in the Chromebook.

With the new Samsung Chromebook, Airtel is offering free 3G or 4G dongle with new data plans. Tikona is also offering Wi-Fi routers and data plans to go with the launch.​
