Microsoft announced today that Lync, the new version of the company's unified communications product, has been released to manufacturers. Like their predecessors (Office Communications Server, Office Communications Online and Office Communicator), Lync Server, Lync Online and Lync 2010 -- plus a Lync Web App -- integrate with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Exchange. The official release is slated for Nov. 17.
