LG set to Begin Manufacturing Flexible Displays, First Flexible display device already being developed

Flexible Displays, well both Samsung and LG are quite keenly interested in it. Samsung also revealed their S-Skin earlier at the CES 2013, which almost stunned us. As you know story without twist is like food without taste, LG spokesmen revealed to The Korean Times that they are gearing up to mass manufacture Flexible OLED Displays by the end of this year.

LG’s Frank LEE recently stated that the company will start manufacturing a flexible smartphone panel, which is probably the same one that LG showed off last month. He also added that the device is going to get a available status later this December 2013. Now what’s interesting thing is that, LG’s VP in Europe recently said that flexible displays are not mature enough to be supplied among the masses, which does infringes the above statement by Frank Lee.

At the rate, LG is set to overcome and win the race against the fellow competitor, Samsung, to market with the flexible Displays. Lee added that the production of the flexible displays will take place on LG’s E2 line at the Korean company’s Paju complex, using a “4.5th generation glass-cutting technology for the OLED flexible displays.”

LG not only plans to get it ready for LG Electronics, but to the other companies as well! That is, other companies can trade with them for the Flexible Displays.

It would be very interesting to see what is it all about and it performance. Just to remind our readers, the Flexible display may be amazing but just the display is flexible, but the rest of the phone won’t be flexible.
