Lenovo Launches Z- Series Laptops, and ThinkPad 10 Tablet

Lenovo, besides launching its Google Chromecast rival, Lenovo Cast, also introduced two new Z-series laptops, an Ideapad laptop,
and ThinkPad 10 (2015) tablet at its Lenovo Tech World event in Beijing, China. While the
Lenovo Z41 and Z51 laptops will hit markets in
June this year starting at $499 (roughly Rs.
31,800), the Z51 laptop with Intel RealSense 3D
camera will be priced at $599 (roughly Rs.
38,200). The Ideapad 100 notebooks will reach the markets in the same month with a starting
price of $249 (roughly Rs. 15,900). Lenovo
ThinkPad 10 will be available this summer
starting at $549 (roughly Rs. 35,000).

Both the Windows 8.1 Update-powered Lenovo
Z41 (14-inch) and Z51 (15-inch) sport full-HD
(1080x1920 pixels) resolution displays. The
laptops can be configured with processors up to
fifth generation Intel Core i7 and up to 16GB of
DDR3L RAM. Both laptops have the option to include AMD R7 - M360 (in Z41) and AMD R9 -
M375 GPUs over the integrated Intel graphics.
Both also have the option to support up to 1TB
HDD inbuilt storage (Z41) or up to 1TB SSHD
inbuilt storage (Z51). In addition, 2.5-Watt JBL
stereo speakers with Dolby DS 1.0 Home Theater certification also come as an optional feature for the devices.
The Lenovo Z41 and Lenovo Z51 (seen above)
feature 3 USB ports, HDMI-out, Card Reader, Wi-
Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.0 under the
connectivity section. A 1-megapixel webcam
also comes included in both the laptops.
Talking about webcams, unlike the Lenovo Z41's 1-megapixel offering, the Z51 sports an
Intel RealSense 3D camera featuring 1080p
colour and a depth sensor for 3D printing,
scanning and gaming. While the Z41 measures
347x249x24.4mm and weighs 2.1kg, the Z51
measures 384 x 265 x 24.6mm and weighs 2.3kg.

The Lenovo Ideapad 100 laptop (seen above),
like the Z-series laptops comes in two screen
size variants - 14-inch and 15-inch. The two
Windows 8.1 Update-based laptops can be
configured with processors up to Intel BayTrail-
M N3540 and up to 8GB DDR3L RAM. Both feature integrated Intel graphics. Also, the
laptops have the option support up to 500GB
HDD inbuilt storage (14-inch) or up to 1TB SSHD
inbuilt storage (15-inch).

The Lenovo Ideapad 100 14-inch and Ideapad
100 15-inch feature 2 USB ports, HDMI-out, Card
Reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 under the
connectivity section. A 0.3-megapixel webcam
also comes included. While the 14-inch
notebook measures 340x237.8x20.2mm and weighs 1.9kg, the 15-inch variant measures
378x265x22.6mm and weighs 2.3kg.



As for the Lenovo Thinkpad 10 (2015) model (seen above), the Surface 3 competitor features a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1200x1900 pixels)
resolution display protected by Corning Gorilla
Glass 3. The hybrid tablet comes in two
processor options - Intel Atom x5-Z8500 or
Intel Atom x7-Z8700, coupled with optional
2GB or 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The tablet is also available in 64GB or 128GB inbuilt storage
variants. Realtek ALC5672 with 1-Watt Stereo
speakers power the audio department of the
device.


The Windows 10-based Lenovo ThinkPad 10 (2015) sports Wi-Fi, Micro-HDMI, microSD card
slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and a USB port under the
connectivity section. The tablet will also be
available in 3G and 4G LTE connectivity options.
A 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED
flash and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera is also housed inside the latest ThinkPad 10
tablet. It measures 256.5x177x9.1mm and
weighs 617 grams.

A number of accessories are also available for
the tablet such as ThinkPad Pen Pro, ThinkPad
10 Quickshot Cover, ThinkPad 10 Ultrabook
Keyboard, ThinkPad 10 Folio Keyboard, and
ThinkPad Tablet Dock.
