First look of PES 14 out; promises a better gameplay

The first look of the soon to be launched Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) was released yesterday by Konami. The developers have promised that the game will come with many new features when it launches later this year.

The game will be launched on PC, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360. It is still unknown whether the game will be available on the next-generation consoles like the Wii U, PS4, Xbox one and Nintendo 3DS.

According to the publisher, the latest version of the PES franchise is expected to have many new features like the True Ball technique, the Motion Animation Stability System (M.A.S.S) and team play. "We want fans to get a true feeling of the actual product they'll be playing on the consoles most own this year." said Kei Masuda, Creative Producer, the PES Productions Team.

The True Ball technique is expected to allow the player to make a 360-degree turn, have a two-footed control on the ball and thus, improve the game play. “True Ball technique will allow players to trap or knock on a pass using the detailed physics determining the weight shift of the player and the height and speed of the pass.” added Masuda.

However, M.A.S.S, another addition to the latest version of the football game by Konami, is expected to be the game changer. Developed on the same lines as FIFA’s Player Impact Engine, the new feature will improve the impact during contact between colliding players using dynamic animations and rules depending on a player’s size and weight. This feature, along with the new FOX engine, could provide the much needed improvement in its gameplay.

This year, PES 2014 will also have the AFC Champions League added to its long list of licensed tournaments, which included the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
