The world’s fastest GPU has arrived with the EVGA GeForce GTX 580.

EVGA has just updated its graphics card lineup to feature two new solutions that are built on the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 design. The first one of these comes with 3GB of video buffer while the latter is a custom cooled Superoverclocked model.

The 3GB version of the GTX 580 is called simply enough the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 3072MB and this graphics card is targeting consumers who use 2-way or 3-way SLI setups for high-resolution gaming.

The improved cooling system has allowed EVGA to slightly raise the operating frequencies of the card as its GPU is now run at 797MHz, while the 1.5GB of video buffer operates at 1012MHz (4050MHz effective).

In comparison, the stock version of the GTX 580 works at 772MHz core and 1002MHz (4008MHz data rate), but EVGA’s solution should feature higher overclocking headroom.

Both EVGA GTX 580 graphics cards are bundled together with a free 3DMark 11 license.

Pricing for the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 DS Superclocked has been established at $520, while the GTX 580 3072MB is listed at $590.
