Citizens of the national capital who depend on public transport for travel have some reason to cheer. Your travel could get a lot smoother and reliable with a new app that will give you information regarding routes, bus frequency, bus stop locations and more.

The app, launched by Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), will be available on the Internet, mobile web and on Android devices. It will go on to show you routes of buses, estimated time of arrival, schedule, where you can find a bus stop, a trip planner and even a bus location tracker. The application is currently available for only Orange coloured Delhi Transit buses, but DIMTS has said that information for DTC operated buses and other features will be integrated into the app soon. It must be noted that only the Trip Planner feature currently works for DTC bus routes as well.

Check bus timings, scout for bus stops, plan your trip and do more with the app

DIMTS has claimed that passengers will be able to access all information in real time and can also send in their feedback regarding the application using a form that has been made available within it.

You can access the application by heading onto the DIMTS website and click on “Bus information for orange-coloured Delhi transit buses”. Alternatively, you can head on to Google Play Store to download the beta version of Delhi Transit Bus Info. Those not on Android will have to wait for some time, DIMTS has plans to expand the app to other platforms as well. “The beta version of the application is currently available for devices working on the Android platform,” DIMTS said in a statement “It will be extended to other platforms like iOS, Blackberry and Symbian.” Seems like there is no app for Windows Phone users.

Re: DIMTS launches Delhi Transit Bus Info app for smooth tra

They use in buses gps trackers to give location on software. But some of drivers try to temper devices - it's possible that some of the buses on the software will not work sometime.
