Today, Dell unveiled their latest laptop, a colossus of a mobile workstation called the Dell Precision M4500. Here’s what you’re looking at.
The Precision M4500 ships with a choice of dual-core Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 CPU, or else you can opt for Intel’s quad-core Core i7 chips for the ultimate in performance. There’s chassis space for up to two hard drives, and you can opt for either 500GB hard drives or 256GB SSDs, as well as choose between NVIDIA’s Quadro FX 880M or the FX1800M GPU.
Additionally, and somewhat uniquely, you also have between four different displays to choose from. The Precision M4500 starts off in a 15.6-inch, 1366 x 768 LED backlit configuration. You can also choose a 1600 x 900 HD+ display, a 1600 x 900 HD+ SRGB panel and finally a full HD, 1080p screen running at a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The Precision M4500 supports up to 8GB of RAM, and you can opt for your choice of DVD or Blu-Ray drive, as well as an optional three megapixel webcam. Other specs include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, HSPA/EVDO Rev. A, Bluetooth 2.1, four USB 2.0 ports, FireWire (!), VGA out, DisplayPort, Ethernet, eSATA and audio in/out connectors.
How much will one of these beauties cost you? Prices start at $1,549 and go up to $2,399 for all the trimmings… but you’ll be expensing this anyway, won’t you?
