Create a FAT32 partition larger than 32 GB on your hard disk

You will need a Window 95, 98, or ME startup disk. Insert this in the floppy drive and restart the computer. When the Windows 98 startup menu is displayed, select ‘start computer without CD-ROM support’.
At the command prompt, type in “fdisk” and press {Enter}. In what follows, you’ll need to press {Enter} after most commands, which we won’t mention explicitly.
When “do you wish to enable large disk support?” Comes up, press [Y]. This will enable FAT32. When the fdisk options appear, choose [3]. Then, the following optionsare displayed:
“Delete Primary DOS Partion
Delete Extended DOS Partion
Delete logical DOS Drives in the Extended DOS Partition
Delete Non-DOS Partion”
Press [3]. You will be presented with: “What drive do you want to delete? “Press [Z]. ‘Z’ represents the drive letter that corresponds to your logical drive.
The next thing that comes up says ‘Enter volume Label’. Leave the volume blank. Confirm this, then prss [Esc] twice to get back to the main fdisk menu. Then select the ‘Delete partition or Logical DOS Drive’ menu option. After that, select the ‘Delete Extended DOS Partition’ option.
Confirm this and press [Esc] to get back to the main fdisk menu. Select the ‘Delete partition or Logical DOS Drive’ option.
Now select ‘Delete Primary DOS Partition’. You’ll now see, “What primary partition do you want to delete..? Press [1]. The next prompt states, “Enter Volume Lable”. You can choose to leave this blank. Confirm this, and then similarly, delete the Non-DOS partition, if it is NTFS. Now press [Esc] twice. In the main menu, press [1], and press [Enter]. Now select ‘Create Primary DOS Partition’.
When you’re asked, “Do yopu wish to use the maximum available size for primary DOS partition?” press [Y] if you want all the space on the hard disk to be assigned to drive C. Enter the size of the partition you wish to create. Press [Esc].
Step A: Select the ‘Create DOS partition or Logica DOS Drive’ option. Now select the ‘Create Extended Partition’ option. Fdisk will automatically try to create a logical DOS drive.
Enter the size of the second partition you wish to create. If you created your second partition to use the entire Extended DOS Partition, then don’t take any action here. If not, repeat Step A until you have used up the rest of the Extended DOS Partition.
Return to the command prompt and reboot. You can now format the partitions you created. Finally, format drive C:, and you are done.
