Anti-malware programs are great and for the most part, work well. But
once a machine is already infected, it’s difficult for even an experienced technician to remove it.
AVERT is an on-demand scanner that utilizes no less than 8 different scanning engines – A-squared, ClamWin, Vba32, Trend Micro, VIPRE, Sophos, Panda and Avira. AVERT doesn’t provide real time protection, so you will still need an antivirus program if you want to stay protected in real time. The 8 on-demand scanners, however, makes AVERT a robust virus cleaning tool.
AVERT is just only 3.4 MB in size, actually it comes without any antivirus engines and the definition files, with the exception of VIPRE. Users can select additional engines they wish to download and ignore the ones they do not want to use. This saves a lot in download time and bandwidth. A full download takes about 300MB. With AVERT everything is kept portable so that it is possible to move all the scanners to a flash drive.
