Asus will start Smartphone Manufacturing in India

Asus today announced that they will soon start manufacturing Asus smartphones in India. They will setup a local manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The first smartphone that they will make in India will be the popular Zenfone 2 Laser.
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser got/still getting a really good response. The demand was so high that the company had to prepone the sale. The company had also launched the Zenfone 2 Deluxe, the Zenfone Selfie and the Zenfone Go recently.

Looking at the high demand for the Zenfone 2 Laser it makes sense to manufacture that in India, to begin with. The Laser sports a 5.5 inch screen with 720p resolution. This dual SIM handset is loaded with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and external micro SD card support.

Laser is powered by Snapdragon 410 quad core processor but the key attraction is the 13MP laser AF camera on the rear and a 5MP secondary camera on the front. Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.
