Apple delays international iPad launch until May

Apple had been expected to start shipping the iPad internationally by the end of the month. But apparently the company is having a tough time keeping up with demand in the US and has decided to push back the international launch of the tablet until the end of May.

In a nutshell, Apple says demand for the iPad has been higher than expected in the US, with more than half a million units shipping during the first week, and a large number of pre-orders placed for the iPad 3G — which hasn’t begun to ship yet.

We still don’t actually know how much an iPad is going to cost international customers, but Apple says it will announcing the pricing and start taking pre-orders on Monday, May 10th.
