any suggestions for video editing software?

Can anyone suggest good video editing software? Freeware preferred but i dont mind commercial software. I just need it to edit home videos. nothing professional.

Features im looking for:
working with mjpeg avi file format
ability to chop and rearrange video
edit gamma, brightness and contrast.
edit light exposure if thats posible with vid. i know u can do it with raw image files.
advanced effects like video noise removal would be usefull.

First try Welcome to virtualdub.org! - virtualdub.org I have used that for very basic editing.

If that doesn't suit your need, Get a trial of 'Sony Vegas' or 'Adobe Premier'.

i use corel video studio

maybe i need to screw with virtualdub some more but the output video quality wasnt that good. video came out choppy.
