The Amazon Appstore has finally arrived to our side of the world, Android Police reports. Now in version 5.0, the updated Amazon Appstore has introduced support for nearly 200 countries – including, Australia, Brazil, India, Mexico and South Africa.

The update follows an announcement that Amazon made last month, wherein it revealed its plan to roll out the Amazon Appstore in over 200 countries around the world including India. The company called on developers to submit their apps for distribution in the countries that are part of the newest rollout. The changelog also features international support for Canada and for more EU countries – Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and Belgium, to name a few.

In India now!

Simply put, it is now possible for users to log into the store to download our favourite apps. What's more, you can even download their free app of the day (hurry!). If you could get your fingers to work quickly, you can grab the free app of the day today – Fruit Ninja!

In addition to expanded support, the app features performance enhancements and other bug fixes. Go ahead, get the Amazon Appstore (APK) from amazon.com/getappstore.

Amazon has slowly been making its advance into India over the past couple of years. While the Kindle e-book readers have already been on sale in India, there hasn’t been any further activity from Amazon’s end in the country. The launch of the Appstore in India could be an indication that Amazon believes the country’s market is ripe for Kindle Fire tablets too.
