Hollywood director Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator) has announced a new movie based on content uploaded to YouTube on one single day.

The film will be directed by Kevin MacDonald (Last King of Scotland) and will use the best footage uploaded on 24 July 2010.

MacDonald said the project is a "time capsule that will tell future generations what it was like to be alive" on that day.

The film-makers will choose 20 different clips for the final film and the makers will be credited as co-directors and flown to Sundance.

We're guessing it's 24 July 2010 PST (Pacific Standard Time) so get ready to upload your clips on the 25th!

Check out the video below. Ignore the demeaning subtitles — it's an Englishman speaking English for goodness' sake!
