Like the Sony Vaio P, this little guy has a compact design thanks at least in part to the fact that there’s no touchpad below the keyboard. Instead there’s a pointing stick in the center of the keyboard which you can use to control the on-screen cursor.
But while the Sony Vaio P has an 8 inch, 1600 x 768 pixel display, the Sony Style L80 has a larger 8.9 inch screen. There’s no word on the resolution, but I’m guessing we’re looking at a 1024 x 600 pixel display.
The machine has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of memory, and 16GB of storage. The product page says there’s a hard drive, but that low 16GB number leads me to believe it’s actually a solid state disk. It’s also worth noting that the product page says the computer has an Intel 945GSE chipset, even though every other Intel Atom N450-based computer I’ve seen has the newer NM10 chipset.
If those errors haven’t scared you away, there’s one good reason to consider placing an order for this shady product: It’s a heck of a lot cheaper than a Sony Vaio P. Shenit is selling it for just $299. It’s even cheaper if you order in bulk. A real Sony Vaio P, on the other hand, will e you back around $900.[/img]
