Engadget is reporting that a Windows 7 tablet for the masses is close to reality. MSI had previously shown off its WindPad 100 at Computex as a prototype. Now, new pictures of the tablet show it’s getting closer to production.
One newly released image shows the tablet with a docking station which allows expanded connectivity to the device. I think it’s safe to say this might include the ability to connect a keyboard and a mouse. Current specs of the WindPad 100 include a 1.66GHz Atom Z530 CPU, 32GB SSD, 2GB RAM, Wind Touch UI overlay, and HDMI plus 2x USB ports.
It is believed the Windows 7 tablet will make a repeat appearance at IFA in Berlin. Perhaps then we will have a better idea around any launch date or pricing.
