Upcoming Android feature

Upcoming Android feature will allow devices to automatically interact

Google is expected to be working on a new feature for its next version of Android which will reportedly allow phones and tablets to automatically connect with the devices placed very close around them. According to Android Plice, this feature will be known as Nearby, and it will allow users to easily share information with others. Google is expected to announce this new Nearby feature at Google I/O Developer Conference later this month.

Details are slim, but Nearby will allow Android devices to easily interact with your friend’s Smartphone, or any smart devices in your home. It will also allow Android users to set a reminder, which can automatically trigger next time it sees a specific person. To do all, Nearby will come with ability to automatically turn on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microphone on a device, which will thus allow Android devices to recognize each other based on audio signals.

But this feature would also pose big privacy concerns as it can automatically turn on and record audio from your device. There is currently not much detail available, but we will find more at coming Google I/O Conference this month.
