Sony confirms it will release a Windows Phone this year
For a few days we are hearing that Sony is working on its own Windows Phone which will be coming this year, but there were no official details which can confirm this news. Thankfully now the company has officially confirmed that it is still in discussions with Microsoft for launching its own Windows Phone.
According to Sonyβs European mobile chief, Pierre Perron, the company doesnβt want to be a βsingle OS manufacturer,β and he also added that:
Currently Nokia is the main manufacturer which is well known for developing Windows Phone. But Microsoft is currently trying its best to attract more and more hardware partners, that is the reason the company has even considered to lower the licensing fees for Windows Phone. The new Windows Phone 8.1 update is expected to come in April. Letβs see if we can hear more official details regarding Sonyβs new Windows Phone before that.
