Samsung Galaxy S3 and S3 Mini will not get KitKat update
Samsung has confirmed that the non LTE version of the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S3 Mini will not get the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS update. This is due to the hardware limitation.
The company told that both the device will not receive KitKat update due to hardware limitations as they features only 1 GB of RAM. Now, this is not a satisfactory reason. We all know that the Android 4.4 KitKat OS is capable of running with only 512 MB of RAM.
However, the problem may be of TouchWiz UI. The UI may not be able to run with 1GB of RAM on Android 4.4. Also, the capability of KitKat OS of running with 512 MB RAM is for the stock version of the OS.
So officially, the non LTE version of the Galaxy S3 and S3 Mini will not get further update of KitKat OS but the LTE version will receive the update.
