Nokia Android Phone, Nokia Normandy coming this month: WSJ

We are hearing much about Nokia’s first Android smartphone codenamed Normandy, but that was all rumors and speculations, it wasn’t confirmed whether Nokia is really working on its own Android Smartphone or not. If new reports by the Wall Street Journal are to be believed, Nokia is planning to launch its Android Smartphone this month at Mobile World Congress.

The report claims that Nokia Normandy will include pre-loaded apps from Microsoft and Nokia, an app store by Nokia and a MixRadio streaming app. There will be no official support for Google Play for Google suite of Android apps.

Nokia Normandy is expected to come with a 4.3-inch WVGA display screen, powered by a dual – core processor with 5-megapixel rear camera, a front facing camera and customized version of Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System. This phone will be launched in emerging markets like India with a low price tag. There are currently no details whether Nokia X will be the first and final Android phone from Nokia or more such phones will be upcoming.

Nokia has already scheduled a press event in Barcelona on February 24th, so we are expecting to see Nokia X there. Stay tuned with us for all updates.
