LG Optimus Black with NOVA display

Today at CES LG unveiled its next flagship of the Android phone, Optimus Black. The phone features what company claims to be the “brightest, clearest and most readable” mobile screen out there with 700 nits of brightness in a 4-inch NOVA display.
According to the company, the NOVA display consumes 50% less energy than the regular LCDs indoors and the AMOLEDs at full white.
The phone goes from 9.2mm down to a mere 6.0mm. And that 9.2mm is as interesting number–the iPhone 4 just happens to be 9.3mm thick.
LG Optimus Black weighs only 109g and offers sleek lines and smooth edges that improve hand held grip.
“We are excited to introduce this stylish new Android smartphone and expect the LG Optimus Black to play a key role in the mobile market,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “LG Optimus Black reflects our core strengths of advanced technology, in both display and design, offering the world’s brightest screen and the world’s slimmest design in an attractive and smart package.” he added.
The phone also comes with Wi-Fi connectivity and also offers the Wi-Fi Direct technology that makes easy and quick data transfer between mobile devices.
LG Optimus Black also features 2 megapixel front-facing camera, a 1500 mAh battery and currently running on Android 2.2 Froyo which can be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread at its availability.
Although there is no word on pricing but LG Optimus Black smart phone will be available for masses in H1 2011.
