Itching Thumb is a task manager application for Google Android that makes it easy to see and scroll through a list of running apps. Just install the app and double-tap the Home button to bring up a list of currently running apps. You can tap any app to bring it to the foreground, or tap and hold to get a list of actions such as kill, activate, uninstall, or save snapshot.

The basic effect is actually pretty similar to the task switcher in HP webOS. But there’s also support for user defined gestures. Just drag any running app downward to bring up a little yellow box. Then draw a character in that box. From then on, when you bring up the Itching Thumb user interface and draw that gesture it will launch the app, whether it’s currently running or not.
