Infosys board to see changes in 12 months: Narayana Murthy

BANGALORE: Infosys chairman N R Narayana Murthy said the company would effect changes to its board of directors in the next 12 months as the terms of two of the remaining three founders — S D Shibulal and S Gopalakrishnan — end early next year.

Speaking at a Deutsche Bank investor call, Murthy said Shibulal and Gopalakrishnan would retire from executive roles in March and April 2015 respectively. Srinath Batni, responsible for delivery excellence and a board member since May 2000, will be retiring in October this year.

Over the last six months, four vacancies were created on the board. Two full-time directors — Ashok Vemuri and V Balakrishnan — quit the company . David Boyles and Deepak Satwalekar retired as independent directors in accordance with the company's retirement policy for the board of directors (attainment of 65 years of age for independent directors appointed prior to October 15, 2010).

The board of directors appointed Infosys president U B Pravin Rao as whole-time director and Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw as an independent director of the company in January.
