Huawei SnapTo With 5-Inch Display, Snapdragon 400 SoC

Huawei SnapTo, the smartphone that was recently listed at an e-commerce website, has been officially launched in the US.
Priced at $179.99 (approximately Rs. 11,200), the Huawei SnapTo smartphone will be available via Amazon in the US and will be available as a factory unlocked device. The company notes on the Amazon listing that the handset will work with both AT&T and T-Mobile networks.

Currently, the online retailer is taking pre-orders for the handset while noting that it will be released on April 17.

It's worth noting that the pricing of the Huawei SnapTo has been kept around that of Motorola's immensely popular Moto G (Gen 2), which was launched in India at Rs. 12,999 for the 16GB model. This might mean that the Chinese handset maker might promote the smartphone as direct competition to the second-generation Moto G. Unfortunately, at this point the Chinese company has not revealed whether the Huawei SnapTo will be launching in other markets as well.

The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) TFT LCD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Android 4.4-KitKat based handset includes 8GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card.

The Huawei SnapTo sports a 5-megapixel rear camera while there is a 2-megapixel front camera also onboard. The smartphone is backed by a 2200mAh battery, while it supports AT&T and T-Mobile LTE bands.

Huawei earlier this week posted a list of smartphones that would receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update starting next month. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update list on the Huawei EMUI China page includes the Ascend Mate 7, Ascend P7, Ascend Mate 2, Honor 4X, Honor 6, Honor 6 Plus and Ascend G7 smartphones.​
