HTC Corporation has just announced its latest QWERTY smartphone, the HTC Snap.This slim Windows phone will be the successor for the HTC Excalibur, and have a strong focus on messaging."Recognizing that people are being overwhelmed by an avalanche of email, the HTC Snap introduces Inner Circle, an HTC innovation that makes it easy for people to prioritize messages from the most important people in their lives," said John Wang, Chief Marketing Officer, HTC. This feature letsusers press a dedicated Inner Circle key to bring emails from a preselected group of people to the top of their inbox, enabling important messages to be acted upon immediately.

This device will be less than a half-inch thick (12 mm), yet include a full keyboard with domed keys, 2.4-inch QVGA display, and a trackball.It will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard on a 528 MHz processor, and have 192 MB of RAM. It will, of course, come bundled with the standard suite of productivity and entertainment applications that are a part of this platform.

The HTC Snap will include high-speed 3G HSPA connectivity for Europe and Asia. HTC also plans to release an alternate, unlockedversion with N. AmericanHSDPA support (850/1900 MHz).

It will also have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and other features will include GPS, 2.0 megapixel camera, and microSD card slot HTC promises it will deliver up to eight and a half hours of talk time with the standard 1500 mAh battery.

The HTC Snap is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities.The smartphone has 256MB ROM/192MB RAM and comes with a microSD/SDHC expansion slot.
