Samsung and AT&T have announced the latest in terms of quick messaging style handsets. The model is the Samsung Evergreen, in addition to the phone begin eco-friendly, it arrives with a low on-contract price tag along with donations for the Cell Phones for Soldiers charity.
Samsung Evergreen is boasts a 2.4-inch TFT LCD display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, microSD/microSDHC card slot (up to 32GB), a 2.0 megapixel camera and video camcorder, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, optical joystick, music player, aGPS (with AT&T Navigator). On the front of the Evergreen there is a traditional alphanumeric keypad. Other specs includes dual-band 3G connectivity and works in GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA networks.
Finally, Samsung Evergreen is being free of PVC2, BFR3 and Beryllium that meets strict RoHS standards (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive). It also an Energy Star Version 2.0 qualified energy efficient charger (level V). Samsung Evergreen will donate $1 for every device sold to the non-profit organization Cell Phones for Soldiers. The organization was founded by teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist from Norwell.
Samsung Evergreen eco-friendly handset is selling for $29.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and 2-year contract (also a monthly plan of at least $20 is required). It should be start available on November 7th.
