After iBall, Micromax, Karbonn and Idea, Gionee has launched an all new sub-Rs 10,000 smartphone for the Indian market. The smartphone, dubbed Pioneer P3, sports a 4.3-inch display and powered by a quad-core processor, has been launched for an attractive Rs 7,499.

The dual-SIM phone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor, Mali 400MP GPU, coupled with 512MB RAM. Just like most of the budget phones released in the past two weeks, the Pioneer P3 also runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with Gionee's custom UI running on top.

Pioneer P3 has a great price, but not so awesome specs

Here’s a quick look at the key specifications:
4.3-inch WVGA display
Dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi
GPS, Bluetooth
5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera
4GB of onboard storage, expandable via microSD card slot

All of this is fuelled by a 1700 mAh battery. The P3 will be available in black and white colour options. The device will be available through online and offline retail outlets across the nation. While Gionee has launched quite a few mid-range phones for India, it's yet to announce the Gionee Elife E7, which is clearly the flagship from the Chinese company. Nevertheless Gionee's P3 will face considerable competition from Indian-branded phones.

Chief among its rivals will be the Micromax Canvas A77. The company launched the Canvas A77 Juice for the same price as the P3. The A77 sports a 5-inch display and is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The USP of the phone is a massive 3,000mAh battery that Micromax says can deliver talk time of up to 10 hours and standby time of up to 250 hours. This definitely gives the A77 an edge over the P3.
